This is frustrating as there is limited visitors parking and often visitors are forced to park outside the scheme which is inconvenient and a safety risk. What can be done about this resident?

Can a body corporate institute action against the sectional title developer?

In our sectional title scheme, it has become clear that many of the structures on the common property have been... poorly built and are defective. However, the body corporate is uncertain whether it can take action against the developer for these defects and accordingly nothing is happening. Surely the body corporate should be able to do something?

Can a Home Owners’ Association impose speeding limits & fines?

I live in a gated estate which is run as a Home Owners’ Association. The association has recently put up... 40 km/h speed warnings and has informed the homeowners that speeding fines will be imposed for transgressions of the speed limit. I find this quite ridiculous particularly as the general speed limit is 60 km/h. Can they do this?

How to stop the water abuse in your complex

We are all aware of the water restrictions around the country and that we should all try and save water.... Yet in our sectional scheme, there are some of the owners that openly waste water, but receive the same water bill as I do from the body corporate. Surely our body corporate should be dealing more effectively with such wastage?

Can my outdoor spa land me in hot water with the body corporate?

My wife and I recently moved into a sectional title unit. We used to have an outdoor spa at our... previous house and would like to put one in again, but we are not sure what the rules of sectional titles schemes are when it comes to installing spa baths? Do I need permission or can I just continue?
